The energy in Balla's painting is evident and beautiful, as is his affection for this pup. I love a saucisse.

This is one of my three favorite works in the museum at Buffalo. Balla’s dog is such a joy!

“I always found that so endearing—how overjoyed dogs are by a simple walk.” Yes! This makes me happy every single day.

You may or may not know of my strong connection to wienermonsters, but these artists are also near and dear to my heart. I had also forgotten about Giacomo Balla!

What a delightful painting. I had not heard of Balla & will look up his work. I did know of Marinetti, who wrote a futurist cookbook. Like Mussolini, he disliked pasta, which he believed made people sluggish. When he visited Capri, he was served a plate of overlapping slices of tomato and mozzarella, garnished with basil ~ what became known as insalata caprese. Or so goes the story!
